The 2012 Yaris is a 2- or 4-door, 5-passenger family coupe, or wagon, available in 7 trims, ranging from the L 3-Door MT to the SE 5-Door AT.

Upon introduction, the L 3-Door MT is equipped with a standard 1.5-liter, I4, 106-horsepower engine that achieves 30-mpg in the city and 38-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The SE 5-Door AT is equipped with a standard 1.5-liter, I4, 106-horsepower engine that achieves 30-mpg in the city and 35-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
